It happens elsewhere too - look at Pogba and Pique who were at man u as kids. Moving on is part of development I expect.

It does happen elsewhere, but United were a winning team to be fair. We are playing absolute losers ahead of our youngsters which is a bit stubborn to be honest. I do think our managers have been a bit petty in that regard.

There might not be many other takers who currently want him or can afford him & the player has stated only PSG interests him. His stock at PSG could rise again next year where its almost certain to depreciate here.

I agree about depreciating in value if he comes back to us, PSG are well aware that next season he enters that dangerous period where he only has 2 years left on his contract - his value will decrease exponentially at that point.

In fact if he does well on loan again it suits them perfectly.

Its that point that they are probably considering as much not being willing to spend the money.

Cant disagree. We seem to be too reticent to give youth a chance. Footballers are 80% confidence - those given a chance early on can retain it, those passed over lose it.

It’s odd because in a lot of these scenarios I find myself asking- “what do we have to lose?” Particularly with the likes of Vlasic and Lookman and the biggest thing I notice is we are so hellbent on playing them in a very specific position (on the touchline) when both like to be involved in the attack.

Not only were they given next to no opportunities, they were an afterthought. It’s almost as if the manager puts them in a position to fail so he can say “See, I played them and no end product.”
