He’s moved on a piece of garbage out on loan that he signed in the first place.

Let’s not get carried away, I’m fully expecting Juve to wriggle out of the obligation to buy when the time comes.
That is a valid concern, unfortunately I suspect we’ll never know the ins and outs of those clauses so no doubt his name will continue to cause debate / dispute with our fan base unfortunately.
Hopefully they are realistic for a club like Juve and him. The former should be straight forward, ie appearances, qualification for Europe, league position etc… the worry is if some are related to personal achievements like playing for Italy etc, that sort of stuff I can quite easily see him getting dropped for his general behaviour.

Looking at those loan numbers i would expect that we're not paying anything left of the original purchase to juventus. If so the deal is a lot better adding in those numbers.

There was a fair bit of talk yesterday that the clause was very simple - triggered if Juve qualify for the CL at the end of the second season.

I am really slow this morning, but we're getting a €7m loan fee split over two seasons and €28m fee which has to be paid within three seasons. Plus, €3m in potential bonuses.

So, the profit posters are calling is the loan fee? Because he cost us €27.5m no?

If it is a guranteed obligation to buy, then we can budget for the incoming cash as well. Almost all transfers are paid in instalments now. This would be no different - it's basically just deferred payment. It should allow us to bring in a very good player.

Yeah, the loan fee, plus any bonuses, plus whatever fee PSG paid last season is profit.

A very good player? Doubt it.

Chelsea have just sold a no mark reserve for near 20m and United have just done Leeds for 30m for Daniel James.

Thank you, appreciate it.
I mean that was a very basic overview, and obviously assumed that we also fulfill our obligations left over from the original purchase (which is the most likely outcome).

suppose there’s an outside chance that those obligations are written off as part of the sale, which would significantly increase the profit, but I doubt that.

There are good players available for 25m if you can be bothered to find them. James is probably very suited to what Leeds want so it's not a ridiculous deal. They've overpaid but they are getting what they want.

I would have no issue with us reinvesting in Jebbison and Patterson. Diaz is who I want and who would push us on most in the immediate, but it's hard to know if that deal is still possible. I'm not very optimistic.
