Giovanni Kean reflected on his brother Moise Kean’s growth over the last two years and his return to Juventus last year.
The Italian forward is a product of the Bianconeri’s youth system, joining from intercity rivals Torino in July 2011 at the age of 11. After progressing through the ranks, Kean broke into the Juventus first team in 2018 before being sold to Everton for €27.5m, where he struggled to show his best. After a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain, Kean returned to Turin.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Giovanni Kean first discussed his brother Moise’s recent career difficulties and how he bounced back in Paris.
“The last year was the most difficult of his career, but it served as a lesson for him. I was sure he would come out of it because he has character and, when he feels confidence, he manages to prove himself.
“He has worked on his weight and his head, he is in monk’s style. But he is at 70% and still has ample room for growth, also because he is only 22. In Paris, many phenomenons thought he was a goner, but he scored 17 goals in one season.”
Kean then discussed his brother’s return to Juventus and why things didn’t go well with Everton.
“Every now and then in recent months he would say to me: ‘Enough, I’m leaving!’ But they were impromptu outbursts due to poor usage. He has never been about to leave and does not intend to, neither now nor in the future.
“On the contrary, he has pushed to return to Juve, it’s his home. Allegri was the first to realise his progress. What a delight to see him score a brace at Lazio under the eyes of Sarri, who did not want him. Kean felt very bad about being sold to Everton.”
The 22-year-old Kean has made 18 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League this season under Massimiliano Allegri, scoring five goals in that time. He’ll be hoping to show his best in the second half of the season.
I read that as he felt bad about leaving Juve, more than joining Everton, as such, but of course he must have been livid joining us after playing for Juve, its a massive step down.

“Turin, 31 august 2021 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with Everton Football Club for the temporary acquisition, until 30 June 2023, of the registration rights of the player Moise Bioty Kean has been finalized for a consideration of € 7.0 million, of which € 3.0 million for sporting season 2021/2022 and € 4.0 million for sporting season 2022/2023.

As much as I detest this club I suspect it is in our best interests that their recent up turn of form continues and they finish top 4. I suspect that would trigger the Keane deal
