Moise Kean

It’s a sad indictment of Everton what has happened re Kean, young raw striker with potential signed at a good age.
Unfortunately probably not suited to English football, and also not the first young Italian footballer to have ‘problems’ off the field
i think Brands saw it almost as a ‘moneyball’ deal, sign him if he’s good for us win win, if he doesn’t cut it, he’s young enough and got a good enough reputation that we would get our money back.
Where the plan fell apart was with our seeming inability under Brands and now under Thelwell is to be able to actually sell a player. After his first season we quite rightly binned him off but instead of a cash sale the seeming only option was a loan away from the club that he made if clear he didn’t want to return to thus diminishing our bargaining power further.
Thats why we had to agree to the Juve loan 12 months later, although financially we probably break even if all targets are met it’s a poor way to do business.
In a perfect world given our current circumstances and all things forgiven I actually think he’d be a much better option than most of our current attacking options both central and out wide, but life’s not like that and if he did come back he’d be yet another player picking up a wage and contributing absolutely nothing

Personally I wouldn't stress about a condition unless you know it’s real, all I’ve ever seen is people say its CL qualification and just assuming it’s true - no one knows for certain.

“Turin, 31 august 2021 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with Everton Football Club for the temporary acquisition, until 30 June 2023, of the registration rights of the player Moise Bioty Kean has been finalized for a consideration of € 7.0 million, of which € 3.0 million for sporting season 2021/2022 and € 4.0 million for sporting season 2022/2023.

The agreement entails the obligation for Juventus to definitely acquire the player’s registrations rights, subject to the achievement of certain given sporting objectives by the end of the season 2022/2023. The agreed consideration for the definitive acquisition is € 28.0 million, payable in three years.

Furthermore, a maximum of € 3.0 million of cumulative bonuses are envisaged upon achievement of further sporting performance objectives”
And all this illustrates why I've fallen out if live with what was once a sport.

Honestly we bought him far too young

He clearly is a talented player but moving away from his family at a young age to a far faster league and played just over 800 mins with 2 goals and 2 assists (half of our current squad would dream of that to be fair)

The forum would cream itself for a player like Kean this season had we not bought him earlier

Can't see how they'd be able to wheedle out of having to pay for Kean, if it is conditional on CL qualification. They'd only not be there because of their false accounting, it would be like them refusing to pay for him because he'd failed a drug test after they'd given him it.

Being conditional on CL qualification, I think they would wheedle out of it by having not qualified for the CL…

Farewell Moise

@Goat since you've always doubted me
