Moment of the season

Moment of the season was the final whistle against Crystal Palace, the only genuine moment of utter happiness the club has given me all, season. The sheer relief, the pride in the fans, and in our players and manager for not caving in going in 2:0 down at half time. Following the defeat by Brentford, I genuinely thought they would fold, but they found their heart and battled back. Coupled with our magnificent fans, it was overwhelming and joyful at the same time.

I’m not suprised they’re getting recognised if thats how they walk it.

For such a dog turd of a season, we’ve actually had some pretty memorable moments.

But for me, on a personal level, it’s probably Branthwaite’s equaliser at Chelsea. We go down there with a depleted team, on a bad run of form, expecting literally nothing from it, and then we undeservedly go a goal down in the 70th minute.

When we equalise about 5 minutes later, away end is going crazy, I hug my young lad who’s stood next to me and going mental, then when he turns around to me he just starts crying out of pure joy. The absolute fanny.
Ah mate I’m 33, the moment Iwobi scored against Newcastle I started crying as well. Lots of proper fannys round here don’t worry!

Sacking pig man is definitely up there, but other moments for me include:- the stop oil lad, with those giant bolt cutters and getting the win that night. Spirit ofthe Blues after the Leicester game had me all emotional and obviously Thursday night.

I’m so f**king proud to be a blue, I love my 90 year old dad for taking me to Goodison back in 1969 when I was just 6 years old. Sadly he’s got vascular dementia, but he still knew what was going on against Palace the other night.

When Benitez was signed, Everton left me. When he got sacked they started to return. In the last couple of months, they’re back with a vengeance and have brought a lump in my throat. The fans make this club what it is. We’ve been running on pitches since the 60’s it’s in our DNA.
