So was there human no skull found? I’m confused

I believe an archaeologist looked at photos of what could have been human remains, from the author, and declared that it was a child's jawbone or something like that. This was then picked up and reported by the press.

But it appears not to be the case - seems like irresponsibly pre-emptive comments from the archaeologist / author.

And said author went to the press. Why build the hope up of the family until you are sure it is at least human remains?
