I expect Barkley to be the biggest beneficiary of this. With two good, fit, tackling DM's he can be given license to play a more roaming, attacking role. Not a #10 but carrying from midfield towards the edge of the box which is his current forte. If he has less defensive responsibility to confuse him I think he will improve going forward.

I'd like him to be given a run of games to prove himself once and for all with two quality central defensive midfielders behind him and the licence to roam behind the striker. If he can't prove it between now and March then I think his time at Everton should come to an end in the summer.

I'm not sure I agree. I think if we had 3 creative midfielders that would free up space for Ross. As it is, if we have 2 water carriers and 1 creative Central Midfielder, opposing teams are going to mark him out of the game.

Which is also why we desperately need a creative and tricky winger. Deulofeu, Mirallas, Lennon are not the answer. One of them can play, but not two. We really need a proven, goalscoring direct winger quickly.

Schneiderlin looks like a mixture of both to me, looks to get stuck in and has a pass and some skill about him too. Think we will have Barkley as the attacker, Gueye as the defender and Schneiderlin helping them both out.
