Can't see any justification to drop Davies. Gana has been outstanding at tackling and intercepting.
Davies isn't as good at tackling but he's better at the offensive part of the game. The team is more balanced with him in it. Just look at the results.
Think it's flawed to look at the results as an outcome of such a single thing. We've also dropped Jags, had Robles in, changed formation, started Kev up front with rom, etc. Gana is still without question one of our best players.

No doubt Gana was the player of the season up until his departure and Davies isn't the only factor in the upturn in fortune but his energy and ability to to turn defence into attack has been a major influence in the turn around.

don't worry mate.. i paid for lazer eye surgery a few years ago.. so i'm glad that's working out well!
Part of the failed treatment for my detached retina was laser surgery with 1000 welds put into my left eye in an attempt to keep the retina from continually peeling away. Agony.

i'm a little surprised people are seemingly a bit disappointed in him today. Honestly he was fine, and actually helped us win the game.

His passing was neat, clean, he didn't give the ball away, pretty sure he made about 3-4 interceptions/tackles and him coming on allowed barkley and davies push a little further forward as they didn't have to worry as much about protecting barry's lack of mobility, he did the job he was told to pretty well.

He isn't going to be dominating games in that respect until he is fully match fit but i'm sure he'll start our next game and keep on improving.

People looking for a bit of skill or anything like that.. you aren't going to get that, he isn't that type of player. He is a hard working, good interceptor and tackler who can pass. The ball to Coleman was a little sign of that.

Either way he will fit in perfectly with the 'new' style everton have and Koemans tactics.

Just looks a little rusty in my eyes, a lot less this game than against City - but hardly a surprise he does as he has not played for ages, big positive signs was he got better/more fluid as the game went on yesterday as well, actually the break we have now will do him good, allows him to get a good week and a half of trainign in with the team and should help him hugely.

Actually a decent chance that Gueye will not come straight into the team after ACON is over as well as the manager may decide to give him a bit of a break to recharge after the tournament (and with the depth we have now its something he is actually able to do)

anyway bakc to Schneiderlin - loved how deep he dropped to pick up the ball at times, when he gets himself match fit he is gonna be the one orchestrating everything

Clev?

Price wise what would I be looking at mate.
I had it done in the States 10 years ago and it was 2800 pounds. Pricey, but also priceless.

Prior to having input done I could not even read the massive letter at the top of the eye chart, was close to legally blind (was nearsighted with a severe astigmatism).

Was actually 20/15 after having it done. Ten years on my eyesight is no longer perfect but am still close to 20/20. Being able to just wake up and see is something I never thought I would experience.

Dead serious (outside the cost to have my children delivered) it is by far the best money I ever spent.

I think people are expecting him to be running with the ball, beating his man. We had Davies, Barcley, Mirralas and then Lookman doing that. He had to do Barry's job protect the back four and be an experienced person to loom after our youngster's. The fact some people didn't notice him tells me he was actually doing a really good job.

Not a bad run out for him, clearly lacking minutes but these 2 weeks off will get him more involved. I feel a lot safer with him in than Barry (as good as Barry is) purely down to him being quicker. Some nice strong challenges early on.

Hasn't done a great deal so far. Needs to show what he's made of before Gana comes back or it could be quite embarrassing for him being a new big money signing and getting kept on the bench by an 18 year old.
