Yeah he was properly on his arse at that point, barely opens his mouth and that voice comes out, magic. Not a massive AIC fan, but Layne Staley was an unbelievable singer. Their "Unplugged" session was one of the best. Made it look effortless. Although maybe that was the smack, to be fair.
Madness that lad, Nevermind the Bollocks is brilliant. He's right the Sex Pistols were rubbish as sure as night follows day
He is great in the band but he's an average singer by himself and a plain bad lyricist. Lonely Day is like something your 12 yo kid would bring home from English class. You're under selling Daron there, he has some brilliant songs on there and the whole Serj/Daron dynamic is part of what makes SOAD great and them the 2nd best tag team vocal partnership. The best is Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell.
I saw them very early on, one single under their belt, at The Princess Charlotte in Leicester. Had a couple of beers with them after, nice bunch of lads, to be fair.I saw my fair share of indie bands and Shed7 were by far the best to be honest. Didn't take themselves too seriously and the guitar player can play like Jimmy Page.
yeah they are very down to earthI saw them very early on, one single under their belt, at The Princess Charlotte in Leicester. Had a couple of beers with them after, nice bunch of lads, to be fair.
Don't listen to what Malcolm McLaren tells the world. It was much more organic than that.Punk was rubbish. A fashion started by the frauds in London. The musical equivalent of Derek Hatton, loud and dumb.
Don't want to listen to any of it.Don't listen to what Malcolm McLaren tells the world. It was much more organic than that.
Dave McCabe? Seen him a few times on Lark Lane.Hes regularly seen in various pubs in town and always best avoided. As is the aggresive buffoon from the zutons.
You will do. Hes always blundering around the place pissed doing his ultra scouse thing despite the fact that he's a wool.Dave McCabe? Seen him a few times on Lark Lane.
Punk is too broad a spectrum to just dismiss as rubbish, loud and dumb. Unless you are pin pointing that couple of years in which case you're still probably wrong.Punk was rubbish. A fashion started by the frauds in London. The musical equivalent of Derek Hatton, loud and dumb.
Arctic Monkeys are arguably underrated. Every album they change and are still fantastic. U2 have one sound and its crap.
Yeah I know it's got some good stuff on it but they couldn't play it live, they tired but they failed miserably.Madness that lad, Nevermind the Bollocks is brilliant.
Maybe they were a bit sloppy on their instruments live but I'd argue that's punk. But they've had so much influence given how short the bands lifespan was. Just look at that famous manchester gig where everyone from Morissey to the guys from Joy Division were there. I'd also even add that Liam Gallagher wouldnt sound the same without John Lydon.Yeah I know it's got some good stuff on it but they couldn't play it live, they tired but they failed miserably.
fair point mateMaybe they were a bit sloppy on their instruments live but I'd argue that's punk. But they've had so much influence given how short the bands lifespan was.
