Mourinho to Man Utd

I honeslty wonder how Mourinho would do over there. That lot demand 'pretty football' and some of Mourinho's teams are not that attractive in the slightest.

Yeah, that's what they've been saying since Fergie left, but just you wait - with Mourinho in, they could absolutely bore the socks off everyone and as long as they are winning cups and titles, they won't care about the style.

United's football in Ferguson's latter years wasn't anything to write home about.

You have any proof they leaked it? From what I've seen it was Jose's agent that leaked it.
They might not have leaked it but given that the Mendes camp have been leaking like a seive from day one, it was hardly a stretch to imagine that they might try to upstage Van Gaal.

And the press reports with the same damaging info (like this https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...an-gaal-manchester-united-players-near-mutiny) could only have come from inside Utd and their coordinated release has the look of an approved club briefing.

The Man Utd style is a big a myth as The West Ham Way.

When he had the players, United bombed on, and usually won.

When he didnt, they played within themselves, and usually won.

His last championship side was awful. In context.

That looks like a player that didn't play much under LvG mouthing off and nothing more.

I don't know why I give a crap and I'm even typing this, but I really don't think they have done anything wrong. It's not their fault some player has gone behind the clubs back and leaked stuff and Mendez has leaked the sacking. Even some journos on twitter have said that manu haven't leaked anything.

Players usually have one or two contacts that they use, often leading to "exclusives" that the other news outlets then follow up in turn. However these reports were across all papers (with variations for style) and released at the same time - just stinks to high heaven to me of an "off the record" club briefing to justify the sacking.

After they way they botched the Moyes hiring and sacking, really thought they would be smarter on the public relations this time. Fair enough if you think all of this was out of their control but personally think, even if neither the leaks were directly from them, a lot of it should have been anticipated and a plan put in place to avoid it.

Mendes had a massive axe to grind with LVG after Falcao and De Gea. He got him at the very moment off his success literally minutes after the FA Cup final. Agents of his stature run the game these days, that's modern football for you.

Never mess with Mendes, wouldn't be surprised to see Ronaldo head there either.
