Its definitely not a wind up, I've heard it come from moyes mouth he says he has money to spend and i'm qouting what he said here "there's money too spend and he's certainly going to spend it."

Interview on Sky Sports News.

Right, just seems odd that its not yet on the website. I could go downstairs and go through the rotation I just don't have time, and I'm fed up hearing about [Poor language removed] Tevez. :)

lol me too, apparantly circumstances have changed and the board have come up with some money for him so I think your spot on about Robert Earl.

I think they are trying to sway the vote. It was leaked a while ago that they were saving something big for just as the balloting went out.

Here is a scary thought though. Why would he proclaim he has money now. Wouldn't that signal other teams to be on notice to not sell at a cut rate for players Davey is interested in. Hard to dismiss that he said it but it does seem unMoyes like. What do you think?

On the official Everton FC site it says:
But Moyes wants further new faces. The media focus this week has been on the possible capture of Porto midfielder Luis Gonzalez, former loan-star Manuel Fernandes and Middlesbrough striker Yakubu.

The Goodison boss was asked about the speculation during Friday's pre-match press conference, responding: "We will be trying to improve the squad. Those sort of players are names that we would consider. It would be wrong to say anything is completely done at the moment. We are looking and things have changed slightly for us and we hope to do some business before the end of play.

"The board have been great and trying to come up with money all the time. They want to see Everton improve. If there is money to spend I am certainly going to spend it.
Moyes knows what he is doing. He's been building this squad slowly for the past 5 years and I'm sure this money will be spent wisely and the new signings (if any) will fit perfectly into our system. Will be an almighty great season ahead if we can sign some of those names mentioned :)

Well I doubt it would make much difference. Evertonians are not materialistic and will only move to Kirkby if they can face leaving Liverpool. Now all the signings in the world are not going to make them change their mind about leaving Liverpool.

Well I think it just takes Moyes up to the next level really. Yes I have money, but I will only spend money if I see value for money.

He's not stupid.

I think your absolutely right in that assessment. I think it also brings a calming affect to the regular Everton fan that has seen some outrageous goings on this transfer period. For the RS to outlay 40 million and not move up one place in the table this year could have a devastating affect for their fans pompus attitude.(Heres hoping). Look what they spent last year and we took four out of six points from them. He he he.

Also he says "By the end of play", does that mean today? Or deadline day?

Hmmm....

My guess would be deadline day. I don't think they'll rush into any signing now, even though they have more money. Moyes have been very careful that the players coming in have benefitted the team both on and off the pitch. No highsalary mercenaries here.
