The great canadian bank robbery. Rob from the rich and give to the poor. Well done Chico.

Ezquerro rumour may have some legs to it. Just visited a website which said that a Barca site has announced a deal with Everton is in the works. Sorry no links as of yet. Person going on about him said he was pretty good. Not Yak but will be awhole lot cheaper for cover.

Hope he isn't gash.

Depends which way you want to play it or put another way, how much faith do you have in Vaughan?

The Barca dude would be better for Vaughan as there would be no pressure to play him because of his price tag. Bring in Yakubu and there would be pressure on Vaughan, a lot really as he would have to get ready to spend time on the bench.

I still prefer the Yak option as I rate him as a player, coupled with Johnson up front would be devastating.

Sure, blame Canada ;)

I assume if we sign Yak, no Ezquerro. If Yak doesn't sign by a certain deadline, then Ezquerro?

Also, if we sign Manny and Pienaar works out, and with Jags and Da Silva as well as the rest of our midfield......I'll buy shares in whatever pubs are closest to VDM's house.

I think it depends on how well we do in the cups. If we go a few rounds in all 3 then we need to be able to rotate players and I see Vaughan and AJ as similar type of players so they'd rotate with eachother.

Also if we get Yakubu, it could spur Vaughan and Anichebe to step up even more to show they should be given chances in the first 11. Also both of them are fairly good substitutes.

But we won't know how Vaughan will react until/unless we face such a situation.. and we've not even got a bid accepted by Boro yet for Yakubu.

thats the thing...

playing twice a week, i know footballers get paid, but they simply cant give 'their all' twice a week for 36 weeks.

i hate to bring him up on this forum, and i know he is the walking faeces of human kind, but did anyone notice how crap a season 'G-Laaaa' had last year - he has played more football than cahill, and is looking like he has.

scholes is another, players do go off the boil, sometimes due to over exersion

This season Everton have to prioritise, i couldt give a [Poor language removed] less about success in the carling/milk/coca cola/bullshit cup. its nothing but a hollow victory.

lets prioritise the league, then the uefa.

see how it goes from there.

I hope we get Yakubu and Ezquerro.
All this talk of cash to spend i don,t know whether i can believe it or not its just the timing with the ballot and typical kenwright i know moysie has come out on sky and said we have cash but after this summer i,m not going to believe until i see players in our kit.

Moyesy knows the best time to shop is right up to the deadline.

Hes waited till the waters settled, the rest of the clubs have blown their wads and the sellers become ever the more desperate.

Moyes will haggle till the sun goes down over a tin of beans.

Moyes means canny.

Good points McBain - also most of the clubs that would outbid us for quality players have already settled their squads, so less competition now. Even Barcodes with 5 strikers may keep quiet as we aim for a forward.

Only club still being linked to a striker is West Ham. Hope whoever we go for is more interested in pride than cash.
