We should get the best manager we can. If there are options better than Moyes let’s get them in pronto. It would be stupid though to for a far worse manager than Moyes (which we keep doing) only on the argument ‘yeah but at least he’s not Moyes’
 
I think people underestimate that outside of the Moyes years we have been a complete and utter basket case of a team in the premier league except for one season under Royle and one under Martinez. Everything else has been complete and utter drivel. We have the most incompetent board in the premier league and an utterly awful squad of terrible professionals.

Royle was a much better manger than Moyes, what he did with Oldham and the team he built with us after 12months was a fantastic side, unfortunately it was broken up to quickly.

Also I don’t think he lost a derby

I’d have Moyes over any of the aforementioned clowns as he is a far superior manager. If he could do a bit of work to get us back into Europe going into the new stadium and clear out the deadwood in the squad then I’d have him for a couple of seasons to then make us attractive to a top manager again. At the moment no one will touch us so we keep going for long shot appointments of lower end prem managers who have had some decent form but then our cowardly spineless squad just shoves them under a bus and the crowd lose faith after a season. Moyes would sort the squad out and have enough credit with the crowd to do it as a minimum.

How do you know no one will touch us? Media have no clue who are going to appoint, there simply guessing. We have to trust Brands and that the rest of the board listen to him as there last 5 choices have been total flops

Look at silva after one season. Battered Arsenal for an hour missed, some great chances. They scored a goal 3yards off side. Liverpool 96min winner. 2-1 up at spurs. Jorginho should have been sent off after 20mins v Chelsea and had 10men for 70mins, We get a 0-0 draw. Utd cheating penalty, then smalling in a booking should have gone with 20mins to go after fouling Richarlison for our pen.

So you could argue 5 hard luck stories out of 6 games away at the top 6 in one season. You can only find similar over 11 years for Moyes.

I want silva gone, but if he was here 11years and had 66 away games v the top 6. He would definitely win a few, draw a few and have plenty of hard luck stories.

Remember the derby away when gerrard was sent off early on. And Moyes just stayed with the same game plan, basically playing for 0-0 and we lost 3-1
His very last game in charge, summed up Moyes. Away at Chelsea, nothing on the game, we couldn’t go up or down. And at 1-1 with 20mins to go he made a defensive sub. And Torres scored and we lose 2-1. A great chance to finally get a win at one of the top 4. And he still couldn’t break away from his defensive mindset.

If moyes has no affiliation to Everton football club. And was being strongly linked with the job. The whole fan base would be in meltdown.

As someone mentioned above, Arsenal now are not the Wenger Invincibles. Man Utd now are an average team - beating them is no big achievement. It is a good result, but hardly equal to competing with a Utd team featuring Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes, etc

Who is begging?!? Grown ups in big business negotiate for a mutually beneficial outcome. If he does poorly he’ll be sacked, if he does well he’ll stay on and build a team again.

The one where he tried to bring on prolific goalscorer Tony Hibbert on 89 minutes with the score at 1-1?

That one yeah.

Financial Difference? That Liverpool Team was on its arse cause of Hicks and Gillett, they had less money than us. Selling Torres = Carroll and Suarez

The same Liverpool that brushes us aside 2 games earlier at Anfield and included there 3rd choice goal and Jay Spearing in midfield

That’s the thing a lot, lot more went right than wrong under his tenure (not going bankrupt being one of the bigger bonuses). The weird blinkered nature towards someone who can legitimately claim to be one of Everton’s best managers is quite amazing.

We begged for FS I’m guessing it would be for him to, but I’m certain it won’t be moyes - to much of a backlash. It’s not happening thankfully

Dont understand that point, to be honest. Suarez was a much better player than Torres.

Could never understand the outsized criticism Dalglish got for the Carroll buy when he also spotted Suarez and got him relatively cheaply. They then sold him for an absolute fortune.
