Moyes: None of my Everton FC stars are going anywhere

5 months to go till we know if we'll sell or buy anyone. Piennar is the worrying one for me. He's got fans elsewhere, and a decent WC showing will increase the interest (I should get paid for these little gems). I can't see anyone coming in with an acceptable bid for Rodwell at this stage. As for the other 'star' players, the injury layoffs have actually kept them off the radar. So I can't see Arteta, Jags or Yak going anywhere this summer. Baines could attract some attention so part of me hopes he doesn't go to S. Africa
The other question is will we have funds to bring anyone in. From what I've read in the press, friends in the know and a deep knowledge of the business side of the club, ie. pouring over the minutes of the AGM etc, I'd have to say I haven't got a fcuking clue

You paraphrasing Kenrick?

Going on past financial performance it would seem unlikely that we'll generate much organic revenue to spend on signing players. Any excess we earn from operations will I think be spent on new contracts.

We've signed Mucha and Moyes may well bring in another few on the cheap, or maybe offload a few fringe players to finance a Donovan type purchase, but I don't suppose we'll see much activity from us in the summer, and to be honest given the state of most clubs finances I think this will be the quietest post WC summer in many a year, especially in the Premier League. We have the 50% tax, the poor value of the pound and the huge debts. I just can't see many PL clubs, except City obviously, spending big this summer.

That's my take on things, for what it's worth.

Agreed Bruce, I think most people will be more than happy to just retain our current players next Season, I know I will, its not ideal, but its all we can hope for really.

How the fuk did this end up in a kick-off ???

You guys !!!

We won't - hopefully - sell , but if , as has been said , some soft Manc nouveau riche outfit decides to offer 2/3 times the value of a player we could replace without too much difficulty - Big Fod' played the majority of his games for us at left back . Good as he was , I doubt many would pick him over Bainsey - . Thus , the dough Fod' brought allows us to replace him - Distin was , in retrospect , a mistake , imo , but I'd have done it at the time . Senderos / Neill , ... nah . Not for me . Expect a centre half this season , I would say - though Source did say we were considering offering Senderos A THREE YEAR DEAL . ( Drinks Bleach *** )
Johnny H , on the other hand , beats Fod' every day of the week in everything but goals . I know whom I prefer .

Business , as the Corleones say , is business .

Not at all.

Think. Confident. Like to.

Four important words there.

At no point in that statement does he say players will not be sold as you are trying to suggest.

And as has been shown numerous times over his career here, what he says and what he actually does months later can be 2 completly different things. Whether thats cause he outright lies or because circumstances and situations change makes no difference.

So there's still just as much chance of a player being sold come summer as there was before he said that. Talk is cheap.

But you knew that. You just wanted to paint it as if Moyes was saying no player would be sold so if come summer a player was sold you could point the blame at Kenwright and call us a selling club etc etc.

Ridiculous assertion. Why would I have to invent an elaborate pretext to point the finger at Kenwright in that event? I'd just do it anyway. The buck always stops with him, because he's responsible.

The manager's setting his stall out. I'd like to take him at his word. You can continue to doubt his word if you like.

Dont know mate. I'm an evil Machiavellian figure who's manipulating the situation, I think is the answer from the tin foil hat brigade.

<plans more intrigue>

Davek mate it's like me. I can't talk about a snictzell without inciting a racial torrent. It's been a long road but I think I am getting there. You basically have to throw out all your morals, and everything you stand for.

So there we have it. DaveK takes people people at their word. If someone says it Davek accepts it.

He doesn't spin, he doesn't manipulate, he doesn't twist words to suit his own agenda.

So next time David Moyes has finished saying he sees no reason why any of his players will be sold Davek believes him.

And the next time Bill says something Davek will take him at his word.

Right?
