Moyes: None of my Everton FC stars are going anywhere

Every player has a price. 30 MILLION would be superb for a homegrown talent.

I doubt Everton would sell for just 8 million upfront though.

NOTW.. Transfer stories in March. Mercy!

In other news other prem chairman try and learn from Bills style of chairmanship:

“I look at someone like David Moyes at Everton and think he would be a great role model.

“He’s been backed at the right times and allowed to develop, and I think Steve Bruce has many of the same qualities.

“Moyes has been given time to put his stamp on the club and that’s what we want Steve to do here.

Who said that?

I seen that as well. So who is feeding these stories to the papers, either it is made up or some one at Man U is being naughty just like what happened with Citeh over Lescott.

The same kind of talk got going and turned Rooney to the dark side.

It'd have worried me if we hadn't had the statement from the club yesterday. Maybe they knew this story was doing the rounds this weekend and wanted to get ahead of the curve and quell the growing rumours about players leaving?

Might be Dave but one thing for sure we are never going to get up there amongst them if we sell off our up and coming talent to be replaced by players reaching 30 or over like Distin or rubbish like Senderos.

Apart from it being an ongoing story for the last four weeks! Lazy journalism, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal have all wanted Rodwell since he was ten - so no surprises like! Love the way they have lumped Gosling in the week - for a new dimension. In other papers he is on the verge of signing new and improved terms - one rag contradicting another.

Call me cynical but Utd have to have a transfer rumour every week, they are the biggest supported club nationaly - and obviously a big market target.

I think we were all just relieved to replace Lescott in time, but that was an outrageously poor signing in hindsight. £5M and a three year deal for a 32 year old. Definitely going in the wrong direction with that one.

I don't think its his age really. Lots of defenders play well into their mid to late 30's these days. I think David Weir is about 50 and still going. Maldini lasted until his late 30's. Cannavaro is 36, Nesta 33 etc. He hasn't impressed me since arriving here, but I don't think its down to his age more than his general quality.

Having said all that, people have rightly been prepared to give Bily a 2nd season to come good so maybe we should afford the same courtesy to Distin?

This won't be popular but i'm not hopeful with Distin.

I voiced concerns at the time of spending £6m on a 32-year-old who was available on a free transfer just two years before, but I did concede that the signing was one out of necessity, given the need for a 'ready made' replacement for Lescott. Ready made in that he had just on ten years experience of the Premiership. With that in mind, I don't think Moyes had the same bedding in plan for Distin as he did for Bilyaletdinov.

He talks the talk but for me, he just isn't good enough. I actually can't think of a worse centre half ever at the club. He's master of the sliced clearance, competes with Yobo for aimless long balls, shocking aerial ability for a lad his size (6 goals in 330+ Prem games, hardly surprisingly when McFadden won literally every header against him in the cup game) and he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights whenever a ball is sent high directly through the centre (Wolves, Birmingham x2, Benfica etc)...

He's also indecisive and makes ridiculous decisions. The Anfield derby, a long ball clearance and Distin looked favourable all day long. He then lets N'Gog make life difficult and punts it out for a corner (why not a for a throw in I'll never know...) which we then condeded from.

Then theres his positional ability. See Spurs, especially the first goal. He's 25 yards forward of Jagielka, in an inexplicable position.

In short, I think Distin is Moyes' worst Everton signing, especially if Yobo is shown the door at his expense in the summer. Despite that condemnation, I do sympathise with Moyes for the out of character signing given the situation.

And before people shout Per Kroldrup at me, Kroldrup had some sell on value, didn't command £50,000 a week and didn't cost us progression in Europe. He also didn't stay around long enough to frustrate me.

Most will disagree with the above and find it out of character, but he's on a par with Simon Davies for frustrating me.
