Moyes on sky sport news

Fair point, bull****ting makes it sound like he's being a [Poor language removed], he's probably just being smart really.
Agreed. If we suddenly had 100m to spend on transfers I'd say Moyes should come out and say the same stuff he currently says -- if you tell people you have x million to spend then guess what they ask for when you come calling for one of their players?

That said, give our recent history and what we know about our finances it's also not remotely hard to believe we have no money to spend even for loans. A loan or two is where I am setting my expectations -- if we get more I will be pleasantly surprised.

I hate loan deals.

Why? They're useful.

I'm not massively keen on them either.

It always seems that either the player turns out a bit useless and they seem like a waste of money, or they turn out ace and you have to endure the rest of the season worrying if they will sign permanently or not.

Of course then you've got the likes of Stracqualursi who came in a did a job, and it was obvious after one appearance that we were never going to sign him permanently.

It's a personal thing.

I get too attached if they are any good (Landon, Fernamdes) and then they [Poor language removed].

Agree in the usefulness. Especially our young ones out.

We'd probably never have had Arteta or Pienaar if it weren't for loan deals.

Nor Donovan for that matter - yeah he didn't stay, but he's been boss both times, and will be back one way or another soon.

Fully expecting Heitinga to leave, so a defender on a perm (or with a perm, preferably both), and Donovan on loan until we sign him on a free in the summer. Hitz is good enough for us not to get another CM in.

Why does he have to be so honest about it.

He doesn't have to toe the party line anymore.

Actually I prefer this version of Moyes - decent football and not trying to pull the wool as though we're all thick - shame it's taken 10 fooking years and now he's packed his bags.
