It's still a very open race mate....in no way shape or form did the Kenwright/Elstone/Moyes interviewing party arrive at their decision last week to appoint a man with zero experience in management - no sireebob. This managerial race is still wide open. We could end up getting a top, top European coach still, because that's the way Bill et al roll...always looking for the best option not the most cheap and controllable. Yes, that'll be it.

I think by the end of it we'll be blessed to end up with Martinez with our board. I don't really rate the guy, but there's far worse as you keep alluding to mate. The problem is I don't find out these appointments until I wake up in the morning thanks to timezones, every time I sleep I have nightmares I tell ya!

was the 11 years under Moyes so great? We were stable yes, but stale as well. No plan B at times. I liked him. but I am glad he has gone. We now have a chance to change.

Will we be boring and go same old, or will we go for it. C,mon get Vitor.

Yes it was, when u consider what went before, what he had to build from, what he actually built us too and with a hand perminately tied behind his back.

I do think its only now he's gone many will see and appreciate what a great job he was doing. I'm not saying there's no life after moyes...of course there is but he built expectations here massively and became a huge case of "the grass in always greener" towards the latter of moyes reign but in my honest opinion there's no next step someone can take us without investment.

The best we can hope for is someone to come in and continuesly keep us where we are, hope along the way they manage to pick up a cup win which was moyes only dissapointment IMO (not failure).

True indeed and spot on.

Fellow Pereira's followers, this build up our hope...

"A Bola" reports Manuel Pellegrini was in Porto last Tuesday and is club's first option to replace Vítor Pereira. #fcp #mcfc

Alex Alex ‏@AH1878 12m
@rcatalao so Periera apparently is on his way to Everton?

Rui Catalão Rui Catalão ‏@rcatalao 10m
@AH1878 @stevietoffee I said I expected it to happen. Possibly tomorrow or Tuesday. Doesn't mean Pellegrini is coming, though.

Alex Alex ‏@AH1878 7m
@rcatalao @stevietoffee okay, would you expect Everton to make an announcement on the same day?

Rui Catalão Rui Catalão ‏@rcatalao 1m
@AH1878 First thing to happen will be Vítor Pereira's announcement. FC Porto won't take a step before that. @stevietoffee

That's exactly the line of thought Kenwright wants you to think (with the added step of Martinez staying at Wigan or going elsewhere and therefore triggering the *only possible solution* of an internal appointment). They play our fans like a grand piano. This race was run last week and the winner is just waiting to be announced when a decent enough time has been allowed to elapse. Evertonians = the most gullible fans in English football.

Sorry Davek, but do you have any positive views about Everton? Not having a pop as I like your posts, but you seem to be casting really negative vibes about anything and everything before anything has actually happened. I'm all for ripping the board when they do cock-up - like KD, the badge and Moyes contract etc, but don't see the logic in going so far to the right when it comes to the choice of manager and the process - the truth is nobody has any sort of clue whatsoever ( hence the bookies odds fluctuating like Katie Prices knickers) about what's happening behind he scenes, who has and who hasn't been approached.
For such negative posts you've either got an inside line and know its an internal appointment or you have such a despise of the Board/Kenwright that no appointment is going to please you? They may actually surprise us all an bring in Pereira or similar....if that were the case what would you view be?

I want Martinez, he will do well here.

I'd be happy with Vitor but I reckon it's an outrageous gamble which I can't see us taking.

Surely u must accept that Martinez is also a huge gamble too. I can't see for a moment that Martinez is our No.1 choice, we would of appointed him by now. He also wouldn't need time to think about taking the job ffs.

IMO the Only manager who would guarantee to keep everything ticking over is redknapp. No one wants him for various reason's which is fair enough...but based in experience, tactical, and player respect ect he would be a great choice.

Everyone else out there is a risk, quite a risk infact but its gota be taken sometime I suppose.

There is a third option: an educated guess made on the basis of the evidence we have before us, a few whispers behind the scenes regarding the clubs' lack of movement on anyone outside the club, and the years of experience of a regime that always fails to deliver. They WILL get this wrong because it has always looked from the off Kenwright wanted this *problem* off his hands and a decision to change absolutely nothing was, IMO, taken very swiftly. The rest has been a pantomime. Pereira? It's no good asking what I think of him mate: he isn't going to come. End of story. And neither is anyone else outside the club. The sooner they announce the Finch Farm cone-layer Weir as manager the sooner we can all get on with our summer.

Yet people will still defend Kenwright. Stupid bellends.

I'd be interested to see where anyone defends Kenwright? I've not seen anything other than a few pensioners clapping his mug once on the big screen at GP....99% of Blues know we need new direction and that BK and this sham of a Board won't take us forward, but most don't beleive the fella should be hung, drawn and quartered. You're way out of order labelling other Blues 'bellends' too.

Everything is 'apparently', starting to get on my nerves a bit now.

The club will make an announcement once the deal is done, I can't see anything happening before that.

Cool, but some of us would like to endlessly discuss hypotheticals until said announcement happens.

They can take all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned mate. As long as they were actually in the business of searching for the right one. Truth is though they're not. They knew it was going to be a coronation of the Moyes man in waiting for a number of reasons: cheap/keeps his mouth shut. Everything else is a charade....a charade who's final stages we're entering into. I feel sorry for all the poor buggers hanging on every word about Pereira...kin ell, poor bastards.

That's fact then is it Dave? Lighten up...unless you have real evidence that they're doing **** all and an internal has been appointed.

I reckon Stubbs and Weir will remain at the club in coaching roles, and a new manager from outside will be named.
Be it Pereira or Martinez.
That's my guess any way.
