I was at a press conference in Porto last month, and when asked a question in English, Vitor didn't understand.

I translated this post for him, he doesn't look impressed to be honest.

Vítor Pereira and two more in the race for Everton

Sports channel ESPN insists on putting the two-time national coach for FC Porto in the route of the "toffees". Learn who the other candidates for the post vacated by David Moyes.

Vitor Pereira continues to be placed on rota Everton in view of the succession of David Moyes. The Portuguese coach, who is in talks with FC Porto for the renewal of the contract is one of three names from a shortlist of possibilities for controlling the "toffees". According to the sports channel ESPN, Spanish Robert Martinez (ex -Wigan) and German Ralf Rangnick - current sporting director of Red Bull Salzburg and former coach of Schalke 04 - are also in the pipeline to work at Goodison Park. Vítor Pereira, who won two championships Portuguese followed with FC Porto also has an open future. The coach is in final contract with the dragons.

Everton: Vítor Pereira in the final list of candidates

The English Press advances this Friday, at the moment, Vítor Pereira is one of three coaches to guide candidates Everton next season. According to ESPN news, the restricted batch of potential successors of David Moyes also includes the Spaniard Roberto Martinez, Former Wigan and German Ralf Rangnick, current sporting director of Red Bull Salzburg - resigned as Schalke coach in September 2011, for health reasons.

"How does Steinbeck portray the theme of loneliness in 'Of Mice and Men'?"

He'd give the same answer he gives to every other question. Some dull stuff about how the team has an identity and is sticking to it or something. Most uninspiring pressers in the history of football. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if he can speak Portuguese, I don't remember him speaking for the last year and a half.

I think that whoever our next manager is, he must have a go at persuading players such as Fellaini and Baines to stay. If this happens he will undoubtedly have support from his players and the fans. I know that almost everyone is assuming that the former is off in the transfer window but I'll believe it when I see it (puts head in sand........

Would also prefer a manager who hates losing and who can change things around tactics wise - its no good winning the passing if we lose...and have a go at winning away from the off....

I had talked myself into the Pro Martinez camp for a fair while, right up until about 5 minutes ago, I know nothing of Vitor except he wins things in an easy league.
I know more about Martinez, but that is basically that he won the cup, got relegated and has done nothing aside from that at Wigan.
I know Everton under Moyes plays more attacking football than Wigan did and that our defence is vastly superior, but I also know that Martinez had less budget, inferior players but has signed better strikers that can actually hit the net...

Having said that... Finding out (about 5 minutes ago) that Vitor lost out to us in the signing of Mirallas tells me all I need to know about whether he knows a quality cheap signing, and that's swayed things back in his favor for me, that and the silverware... and the not getting relegated.. and the losing loads of quality players and not getting beat whilst winning the league.

Martinez does have premier league experience, but when you look at it, its just experience of clinging on at the bottom of the league, then eventually letting go.

Vitor for me, although I will be supporting whoever we choose
