Ready and waiting with a big plate to receive a large serving of that humble pie mate, dont worry. Only thing is, I dont see any manager promoted to the job from outside yet.

haha, given who we're talking about here, I've served up the potential for a massive egg on face moment here, by vaulting before the announcement.

So I'll have the pie ready, as one of us is defo going to be chomping on it.

It's going to be tricky without a time machine. This on top of the "Moyes will never get the Man U job" ... what we need next is for Davek to pledge that this coming season we will not under any circumstances finish fourth and win a Cup. Use your powers for good!
Actually come to think of it preventing an internal appointment is good and he wanted Moyes out so perhaps he is using his bizarro prediction power for good.

Davek is entitled to his opinon and generally his opinons are worthwhile.
It is obvious what he thinks of the board, very often he is right, but sometimes I think his dislike can cloud his judgement.

Regarding an internal appointment,I think Bill Kenwright would have dearly loved to appoint an internal manager but realised they simply didn't have the experience.
I think that option two after Martinez could well be Stubbs/Ferguson with an older man as mentor.Something I would consider very interesting

Very different coaching philosophies mate

Maybe, and it was a bit of a daft suggestion but tbh there is a half-serious angle here in 2 or 3 articles I've seen about Pereira (including a long interview with him) which are clear that he is more natural in a coaching role (almost a No.2) than in a managerial role. He is far more around tactics and conditioning than selection and player choice, and while there's obviously an overlap, it's a rather unorthodox approach for a 'manager' in the way we see this in the Prem. Pereira is low-key, under the radar - the Harvey to Martinez's Kendall...???

I get what you're saying, but there's a reason why they want to come to the Prem. It's for more control, I think that sometimes these 'coaches' have a lot more say into who the club buys than we think too. They just have a different set up on the continent.

You're probably right when you consider Mourinho and AVB, but Pereira really is a different animal. The reaction of the Portistas to him (they were pretty much split in terms of keeping him even though they won the league) is very indifferent, and he has no real rapport with the fans. It's just not his bag.

The eternal optimist....!
