we're a top 6 side in the biggest league in the world and we probably pay our manager more than 90% of club's in Europe. Why wouldn't top manager's want to come here?

I'll be gutted if we get Hughes, Lennon or O'Neill.

Martinez wouldn't be too bad - he's done a decent job to keep Wigan up for as long as he has. Think they've definitely underachieved this season but they've given it a good go again with a limited budget. We all moan about how small our budget is but when it comes to wages we probably pay out twice as much as Wigan do and he then has to sell Wigan to prospective players which can't be easy with the ground and small support they have.

We won't get Laudrup. We're not enough of a jump for him imo. Swansea are mid table and he'll want to take them further next season, and then he'll probably be off to a European competing side.

Well, they aren't players, and I doubt that the admin staffs' wages are counted in the player salaries column, so I don't see why the manager's wage should be counted in it either?

My understanding was that the wage bill released in the clubs accounts included staff and manager and indeed ground staff.

Looking at the accounts released, the 69 million figure is the total we pay in wage to everyone below the directors level and that's the figure used in articles about it. I would assume that's what FFP uses, too.

Not quite twice, but yeah, nearly.

If Martinez came here he wouldn't make as many mistakes on players as he has done at Wigan, for a few reasons.

1) Bigger club which cant attract better players in the first place, less risks
2) Better scouting network
3) Able to pay much better wages

He might still buy the odd jarg player, but then so did Moyes. Everybody does.

the true everton dream team that would put a huge smile on my face would be big dunc with joe royle or peter reid as assistant.

You can all [Poor language removed] of suggesting Martinez. I seriously mean it now.

Since when has a relegation battler been good enough for Everton? Moyes has gotten us battling for Europe, that was not good for most evertonians.

Pathetic.
