Redknapp is a bad choice. He's only happy when he has a transfer budget. He spent big at clubs before and they ended up in administration.

He's done well but going to that all conquering porto side and winning a league is still a relatively minor achievment compared to say what Girard's done at montpellier.

It's not just one league title vs one league title, there's context.

They were conquering when they had Falcao, Hulk, Alvaro, Gaurin, he's done an incredible job to go unbeaten, if it was so easy for minnow leagues such as then Celtic would have done it by now, remember we got absolutely dicked by the team above Porto.

We can easily afford the wages - problem is the buying out of the contract.

Exactly.

Hughes also comes with an enormous backroom team, and we've built up a solid foundation of ex-players throughout the club to allow his wholesale changes.

Redknapp is the footballing equivalent to the monorail guy from the Simpsons.

don't know much about Girard or Pereira (probably about the same as you all), but I suppose I wouldn't hate it.

Laudrup or Martinez would be fine

Cor haven't been on here since Twitter, but thought I'd get involved..

For me Laudrup is my first choice, I like the sound of Periera and his contract is up, but don't know much about Portuguese football. Wouldn't mind Martinez or Bilic either.:D

The real worry for me is some of the names in the mix: Hughes, Redknapp, Lennon, Poyet, O'Neill, Lambert, Pulis, really?? (n)

How could Redknapp bankrupt us if we don't give him silly money? its impossible people need to wake up Kenwright doesn't see past the end of the street no manager from abroad will be coming over, it will be a manager from the PL/Championship and if Laudrup is too expensive then that leaves realistically only Martinez who Im not fond off. Redknapp can pick a player and that's what we need if he was happy to have a small budget (bigger than what Moyes has had with the new TV deal) then he would be my choice

Alan Irvine is one hell of a good bloke. My father had the opportunity to meet him, away from football, and in the midst of the personal loss he has suffered (his wife died of cancer I believe) he doesn't deserve any ****ging off from us. So whether you think he would be wrong for us or not it's not appropriate to just lash out at him.

We can afford the buyout figure (not sure if it's really 10m -- would a buyout stay at original value even when the contract has run down by a year?) but the question is if we're better off with Laudrup and one less player or another manager and one extra player.

I'm not the unrealistic "we should win the league with our history mate -- 4th is nothing to celebrate!" type but something about not being able to take away a manager from Swansea FFS really gets me depressed. We must take him away and remind Brian Swan that we're Everton Football Club and we do what we want with the likes of a Swansea. If we are being s--- on by Man U then damn it we should be able to s--- on someone else ... then Swansea can s--- all over a Championship club and take their manager ... Martinez perhaps? ;)

He's needed lavish sums of money to pick those players in his past three stops. It's not happening.
