IMO if Laudrup didn't want the job, he would've said it by just saying that he couldn't leave Swansea for us (for whatever reasons).

Even if he does want the job, he's got that sizable release clause doesn't he? IMO we'd be better served spending the 10m on a player than a release clause for a manager with 1 good year under his belt. If the clause isn't there, then go in for him for sure.
 

Was impressed with Laudrup then as he remained cool, calm and collective under questioning. I like him a lot and think bringing him in to the club could potentially be a significant step forward. However I am still not keen on Mackay ultimately because of his inexperience at the highest level, nothing personally as he seems a nice bloke.

100% this. Everton still is a big name and will be an attractive option to at least 95% of all coaches/managers.

The way Goodison was rocking today, what a superb crowd, would've loved to be there, can also only help candidates for the job to make their minds up
