any manager is going to b a gamble lets be honest ...some ( i stress some) of the names i think could do a job for us

laudrup has done a good job at swansea so far but in fairness he hasnt got the greatest of reps for hanging around too long
martinez has done a good job at wigan ( though i think they are gone this yr)
periera( is this the porto manager) if it is done a good job intially but has waned slightly

most important there CANNOT be any issues with speaking english and i dont care who they are
 
I wonder if BK and his fellow carpet baggers will want a manager in place sooner rather than later? After all, the sale of players cant really be taken by the board.

I'd have Redknapp, two flying wingers and a penchant for players who can play football plus proven success of twice getting Spurs into the top 4 and going on a decent run with them. The money wouldn't be here for him to waste anyway so he really would have to wheel and deal. Bet he'd know how to get Jelavic banging them in again.
 

Unsworth says the club should appoint from within and would love Stubbs to get the job.

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup would cost Everton FC up to £10m in compensation if they want him to replace Manchester United-bound David Moyes

Swansea City would demand as much as £10million in compensation for Michael Laudrup if Everton follow up their interest in landing the great Dane as David Moyes’ Goodison Park successor.

Sources close to the Merseyside giants have indicated the Toffees are eyeing-up Laudrup as one of the candidates to replace Manchester United bound Moyes.

It is thought Goodison Park top brass see Laudrup as an exciting figure to appeal to fans left reeling by the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson’s anointment of Moyes as his Old Trafford successor.

Suits at Everton have been convinced Laudrup should be a leading contender following his stunning first season in South Wales that looks set to climax with a top-ten finish to go with the League Cup triumph, Swansea’s first major English trophy.

However, it is believed the amount of compensation it would take Everton to prise Laudrup away from the Liberty Stadium could rule out a move.

Laudrup has indicated privately he wants to at least see out one more year with Swansea, excited by the challenge of improving his squad again and taking on a Europa League campaign.

But it is the buy-out clause inserted into the new two-year deal Laudrup signed in March that the Swans believe will protect them from any Everton advance.

The compensation package agreed in private dwarfs the British record £5m Liverpool were forced to pay to land Brendan Rodgers from the Liberty last summer.

The Western Mail understandsthe figure to actually land Laudrup would be closer to £10m.

With Everton restricted by their finances, that may instantly take Laudrup off their list of potential targets.

Swansea have insisted on large compensation figures in new contracts from managers since being stung when Wigan took Roberto Martinez from South Wales in 2009.

Laudrup was happy to agree to the clause when he extended his contract by 12 months in the weeks following the stunning League Cup success.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins stated yesterday there had been no contact from Everton despite Laudrup becoming as one of the front-rrunners in the betting for next Everton manager.

Jenkins said: “Michael has made it clear he is not looking to move on. He is doing a job he enjoys doing and he is happy here.

“He is different from some managers. He is not on the ladder to try to get the top.”

That's him off the list then. No chance we'll be paying £10m compo, especially when we got nothing for Moyes.
