Moyes sacked by United

A surprise that doesn't surprise me- at any other club within the top 6/7 he probably would have gone now- AVB went for much less. Not only does it say a lot about Moyes as a manager and the characters in his dressing room but also it emphasises how good a manager Ferguson was. The lack of motivation and desire yesterday was evident- United may have lost under Fergie yesterday but would have shown a lot more fight. Carragher was right yesterday; too many 'Monday to Friday players'. Moyes has to shoulder the blame, yes, but questions need to be raised about the attitude of that changing room. I think a lot of them have forgotten what it feels like to lose, same with the supporters.

What else can he do there, though? This summer at United is going to be one of the great managerial opportunities of all time - hundreds of millions of pounds available for rebuilding, it is still a massive club, you are going to follow someone who has (unfortunately for him) set the bar very low, and Ferguson isnt going to be Salacious Crumbing in the stand as he was for Moyes. No European football - and less games than the competition - will also give them a boost, as the [Poor language removed] have found this season.

Dortmund's a big club. Capable of winning the Champions League I reckon.

Klopp has built his empire how he sees fit there, and every year they hit the knockouts of the CL makes it that much harder for Bayern to poach.

If they're not commenting on it then it doesn't look very good. I'm surprised that they're doing this before the end of the season at least but I think he's gone.

CL not even a mathematical possibility and Europa League highly unlikely. For United, yesterday was the end of the season with nothing to play for except pride, something they failed abjectly to do at Goodison.

Tbh I feel a bit sorry for him. The job was too big obviously. Will be interesting to see how the story continues.

I almost agree, then I remember how classless he was in the summer, then I go neutral.

It's like going out with a girl for years, you're settled together, the passions long gone but you were both happy enough, maybe you a bit more than her, but you remember the early days together and you love them because of that. Eventually, some big shot comes in, she thinks she's outgrown you and can do better. She dumps you. You try to finish on good terms, because you remember the good times, you genuinely wish her well. She thinks so little of you, a few months after your breakup, she shoots her mouth of about you all over the place, laughing at you, talking you down, trying to take you to the cleaners, it transpires she was actually cheating on you, started getting with the big shot while you were still together.

Now, it's a year later, you're happier than you have been in a long time, your new girl just makes the world seem a lighter, brighter, better place. She on the other hand has been ruined by the big shot, rumours are going round he's trying out replacements behind her back for a while, she's miserable and has realised a bit too late how good she had it.

When you think about it like that, it's easier to sympathise with Moyes. If he comes out, shows some humility and looks back on the last year as a series of massive mistakes on his part and apologies for the way he treated us, time really would be a good healer. If he, however, comes out and tries to maintain he went about things the right and blame everyone else for his own short comings, the best I can feel toward him is nothing at all.
