Moyes sacked by United

He needs to take some time out and change/develop his approach. The security of the Everton job doubtlessly led him to become complacent and consequently he stagnated whilst others were adopting new philosophies and methods.

He's a good manager, but one who just became stuck in his tried and tested ways. His next role will probably define his career so he should take his time choosing it/

from that article, this picture of Ferguson watching united get beat by Chelsea in January

look who's sitting in front of Bobby Charlton...

If they let Moyes buy Fabergas and RVP was healthy they might have been top 4.

Granted RVP is never healthy and that side is kind of a poor mans Everton 2012-13 without him.

I think given that LVG has struggled too, that the job was never going to be easy.

That said, one of his flaws, which us, as Evertonians noticed, and criticised, was his approach to so many games, he'd play negatively, and we'd be found out, Norwich's, West Brom's would get results from us being over cautious, for every well ground out performance, there was a frustrating performance, without trying to down us a club too much, Everton don't quite bring the same scare factor as United do, well under the Fergie reign, a good team, you bet, but when a team sees a weakness, somewhat David Vs. Goliath-esque, they can swoop, and when Moyes openly admits to trying to play the way he was 'so successful with' for us, with United, then the WBA's, Southampton's etc.. lose their fear and they're going to get a result.

A not very nice man by all accounts, and for me, not a very successful one, obviously the way he left United was harsh, but i don't feel for him, i mean 10 months into a 5-years, 100,000k a week contract, which got paid off, well yeah, there you go, that's a cool £10m+ for being 'successful', 14-years a manager, zero trophies. To put that in perspective, Martinez, Laudraup, McLeish, Redknapp, Ramos, McClaren and Souness all had more success in terms of silverware, in the time that Moyes was head coach of Everton. You're not remembered for finishing in the top half of the table for 80% of your career, but you are for Silverware.

I know people in and around Everton, and by all accounts he was a horrible snide with a vindictive streak and bad hair to boot! seriously though , he was a rat!

Still unhappy at the way he left us and his immediate actions afterwards. But, in the same way that a bad divorce shouldn't cloud your opinions of a marriage that was largely successful, I'll always be grateful for his early years in the job and the great squad he brought at bargain prices.

Hope he goes on to find a good job.

I started with this view, but every time I read his comments I feel more sorry for him (real mental health concerns) and more dissatisfied with his comments toward Everton. I don't wish him failure, but I'd like to see some public repentance for being such a giant asshole.

Walter Smith had Archie Knox threaten players with a baseball bat, Walter talked Michael Ball into playing at aged 18/19 into playing through pain killing injections for "the sake of the club" even though it ruined Balls career.

We've had some wrong'uns at Goodison, and thats putting it politely, the bloodlust regards Kenwright currently (right or wrong) is testament to how vociferous and steadfast parts of the support can be.

The smarter City fans are shyting themselves about when the plug gets pulled, same goes for Chelsea, the house of plenty eventually runs dry and being used to such marvels can be a burden to a club - check the sacrificial lamb that took over from Ferguson.
Sometimes for things to get better they have to get worse to reinfocre the point.
