Moyes to Sunderland

Poor old Davey has lost the plot, he might quit Sunderland if they get relegated, he really has no self awareness about how much his profile has dropped. He still thinks he is living of his years with us. He needs to realise his collateral is low keep his gob shut stay where he is and eventually get them right back up. Reading the room wouldnt be any harm either.

Whatever that experience at United did to him he hasnt been right since.

"A long-term plan is definitely needed for this football club. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to talk about it but they don't actually want to see that this is the way it has to happen. But we will put it in place. There are a lot of things done behind the scenes we are trying to improve on."

Quite funny that Short said that Moyes was first choice for ages, yet all the 2nd/3rd/8th choices etc. kept on keeping them up season after season. At this point he is best off doing a Reginald Perrin and disappearing for a while.
My point is not to defend Moyes here because many of his own decisions this season have been nothing short of woeful; he's also clearly deluded.

However, you could argue he took on a poison chalice in Sunderland which has deteriorated over years of mismanagement on many levels.

They'd been teetering on the abyss for years - the issue is whether Moyes pushed them over the edge, simply went with them or a bit of both.

Don't disagree it was a tough gig, but fat sham would have kept them up. As others have said brand Moyes is damaged beyond repair.

Maybe so, although I do think it would have purely put off the inevitable that is/was Sunderland being ultimately relegated in the near future.

Still, signing the likes of Gibson and co. combined with some of his comments this season, and his demeanour, has simply sped up the process.

I was talking at the start of the season with @davek, that perhaps they needed to be relegated and Moyes would then potentially rebuild the club.

Now, if they're relegated and Moyes keeps his job then I think there's a strong possibility they'll slide into further abyss as he's a lost and deluded soul.

Everything he does is for David Moyes.

He'll play down expectation at every opportunity, to the detriment of the club to benefit only himself.

He's going all out the protect his CV, and ensure coverage is towards his external factors. "I feel sorry for David Moyes", will say the ignorant pundits.

As appreciative as I am to him for steadying the ship, I'm convinced he did more damage to this club than we'll ever realise.

Martinez recognised it, and it's one of the biggest challenges for Koeman - shifting the mentality away from plucky little Everton with Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert adorning the walls at Finch Farm to a club who now only can compete, should be competing.

His post-match press conference will be an interesting listen as there's no way he will be magnanimous in his failure to keep them up.

In fact, I'm expecting the blame to be deflected onto everyone and anyone rather than shouldering some of it himself.

Today's atmosphere is going to be minging. As bad as Moyes has been the club itself is in a total mess from top to bottom Short has caused most of it. If (when) Moyes does go I dread to think who our next manager will be

Wouldn't be overly surprised to see them relegated again next season... Defoe will move on now, and he's the only decent player they have.... Shambles of a club
