I say in that case, win the UEFA this year, then if we don't qualify for CL through league we'll do it next year and won't be so worried about winning the UEFA as we can cross that one off for a few years, what with our new boss players attracted to a successful European club

I think it helps, it terms of raising the profile of the club and leverage in negotiations. Money is also important though no? Maybe I'm just different to footballers who would go to Newcastle
 
I would prefer winning uefa cup, a great day out in manchester for the thousands of us that would invade, finish 5th above the [Poor language removed], then another good season in the eufa cup with a few more quality signings then move on from there, personally i still think its too early for champions league football but wudnt turn it down if it came are way.

Do you have a source for that? Or general information on what money teams get for what stage in which cup? Interesting to see the differences.

When do tickets go on sale for the UEFA final? I wouldn't mind buying a ticket before we get to the final as it would be an unmissable game if we made it there and I could always punt it on if Everton don't make the final.
 
I just see Moyes playing the long game, as he always does.

He's looking to the future beyond this season, and making serious money in the Champions League would do our club the world of good. Winning the UEFA cup would be fantastic, don't get me wrong, but filling up the coffers and allowing us to build an even bigger / better squad would be a good long-term strategy.

The experience we're currently getting in Europe, and the good form in the PL is (slowly) gaining us a better profile, and I still love being a team that are the perpetual underdogs.
 
I just hope that the board / fans recognise the great job that our Davy is doing, and don't make stupid 'Moyes Out' calls if we don't win the PL / CL in the next year or two...

Read a report in the Spanish sports daily 'Marca'. Actually it was before their final group game. I'm sure I can dig out more detailed information
