One thing moyes can't be accused of is being bad in the transfer market. Yes a bit of dithering here and there but hardly suprising with the lack of cash and inept board.

Do you think that if Moyes was in charge of now where the club had a huge increase in TV revenue and a large surplus on former player trading, and had constant and continuous speculation about certain couple of popular players but had only signed a 33 years old to a 3 year contract, while having only 3 preseason friendlies lined up despite the fact he'd spent the majority of close season doing punditry work on a World Cup and not at finch farm he'd be getting a bit more stick than Martinez is now?
Perhaps he would but remember that the WC only finished about 48 hours ago.

Patience, lads. Not too much, we don't want to go to deadline day, but give them more than two days. WC summers are always a pain for transfers.

As for the preseason friendlies, what's the point? They've always seem pointless to me as no one takes them seriously and are far better for the smaller teams than the bigger ones.
If preseasons were taken more seriously by everyone then we'd have summer tournaments against top sides, every preseason.

You'd hope the targets were identified prior to the WC (rather than based on WC performances), and thus the WC should not be a barrier. Bosnia went out of the WC weeks ago, can't go claiming no business can happen until after the final.

Players have been been bought and sold before, during and after the World Cup I'm not suggesting Monday was any sort of deadline. The key deals Lukaku clearly, if we sign him every thing else falls into place but obviously we can't wait for ever on that. If Moyes put all his eggs in a highly unlikely transfer people would be going nuts, and considering everything else I've just stated your job as a mod on here would be a lot more difficult. Just pointing out a bit of hypocrisy in calling Moyes a "Ditherer" whilst believing Martinez has it all in hand without any real evidence of that.

I don't feel I am. Moyes was known throughout the football world as a ditherer. How many times were we left until deadline day? Look at him last year - bought Fellaini, when he had the disposal of Man Utd's financial backing.
Martinez, while obviously has made a couple of last minute transfers, has seemed to have already started work. We've got Barry, he's stated he has to wait for a decision from Lukaku, so obviously wheels are in motion.
