We must be the most divvy fans in the world to get all foamy-mouthed about the possibility of signing some player we've never, ever heard of. 100 pages, ffs!

Bang on this, just proves how desperate we are just to get someone in but thats what happens when we have a useless board and every transfer window is the same.

You're calling me a hypocrite?

I don't feel I am. Moyes was known throughout the football world as a ditherer. How many times were we left until deadline day? Look at him last year - bought Fellaini, when he had the disposal of Man Utd's financial backing.

Martinez, while obviously has made a couple of last minute transfers, has seemed to have already started work. We've got Barry, he's stated he has to wait for a decision from Lukaku, so obviously wheels are in motion.

I'm pointing out the fact you claimed Moyes didn't have a clue in the transfer market and dithered, yet you've failed to acknowledge that our 3 most important signings last season happened on the final day in the closing hours and minutes of the transfer window. Or even the shambles that was the winter window when we clearly needed at least one new recruit for our forward line and somehow managed to get a injured player who couldn't participate for 6 weeks. The very window that prior to it opening Martinez said we'd always leave a transfer window stronger and in better shape than when we went in to it yet he let 2 players leave. Incredibly one of the players actually played in the very position we were so desperately short of numbers for and all we got in return was an injured loanie. Add this to the fact that Martinez stated he was working on deals right up to the very last minute that night as well shows to me that he's every bit as much a "Ditherer".

I'm simply suggesting you're putting a little to much faith in Martinez and his transfer dealings with not enough evidence to back it up, whilst showing Moyes no respect for what was one of his most outstanding qualities.

Surely we should attempt to have faith in our current manager?

I agree Moyes made some tremendous signings, most notably Cahill.

I feel my light hearted comment has been blown out of proportion to be honest.

That's harsh and to be honest unfair. Do you honestly think Moyes was the one doing the deals at OT? He was quoted throughout the summer saying he was waiting for an update on the Fabregas chase amoungst many others he wanted.

And by all accounts, it was Woodward who was inept and totally clueless in how to do a transfer.

Something else in Moyes defence, can you honestly blame him for dithering and being thoroughly sure of players before going all in?

He was given a very poor hand by our board and wasn't backed for pretty much his entire tenure.

He simply HAD to be careful because he had little dough to waste.

he got a few wrong as does every manager, but his dithering served him and US very well because he picked some absolute cracking bargains.

His transfer record stacks up against any other manager in the league.
