As one of the few on here who support playing a defensive MF 3, I'd have gone with Besic as well as Barry. No harm given our one goal advantage in going with that to keep that advantage for as long as possible, with attacking replacements on the bench should it not work out. As it was, our MF was paper thin. The two in it were overrun, so much so that McCarthy had arguably his least effective game ever. He was still chasing the ball around but with no other supporting MF he was just being passed around with no difficulty. There's no point in one man chasing the ball. He's got to have a follow up support with him. But the team selection meant that that support was never going to be there.

Don't think Martinez fancies him to be honest and I'm not talking about the schoolgirl crush type. For a lad who's highly talked about from your average match going Blue he's always the first to get the Shepard's Hook and he should of been part of a midfield three last night no questions asked.

Thats cos hes a clueless Spanish Clown who plays Steven Naismith and Gareth Barry.
 
Thinking how Barry played against Dinamo and that McCarthy play 3 days ago it will be good to give Besic chance with Gibson today. If i recall he did great against QPR complitly took out Vargas from game with few tackles. So nywhone agree. As for all this who say Besic is no good . Tell me one player in PL who was pay 4 mill and play good at WC, took Messi out took Bale out,. and just year ago play CD at Hungary yet he cope great at DM and was one of the bright spot in this horrible period. PNo forgat that , tell me one player who play good at WC has 22 and was cost 4 mill , just one.

I don't think he's better than McCarthy, or indeed a Barry that is properly rotated and doesn't play 90minutes every freaking game.
Gibson also offers more with the ball. Not saying he doesn't look like hes gonna be boss, indeed for him to be where he is, having come from the Hungarian league and learning a new position in DM he looks like he could have it all. But he doesn't have it all yet, that will come with time and experience as he adapts to the league.

I don't think Martinez would have given him a 5 year deal if he didn't fancy him.

He just fancies McCarthy more and doesn't see them playing together for now.

However he's still only 21 so he has plenty of time to play his way in permanently.
 

Ok i don't know now why he buy him at all.Player is gone from first team and hes not even good for last 10 min when u holding 2 1 aperently
