MoutsGoat, i gotta say i love your passion when it comes to Mume. Similar here.
I've watched him since he was around 18 and instantly became a huge fan and couldn't wait to see him get a call to the NT once again(after he left for Hungary). At that time he showed some great moves with his quick turns and great vision, not to mention work ethic i've never seen from any other player(and i've watched footy for a long time). Absolutely love the kid and i'm glad he's playing for Everton as the fans and club seem to really like his game as well(there will always be some bad apples everywhere you go..and that's ok).
Having said that, i do also think that some Bosnians and others go a bit overboard with "he's better than Barkley" and similar comments. I love Mume and have said this a million times to others but its true that his offensive game isn't better than some of those guys. With Barry, whom i'm not a big fan of, i think Barry's vision has kept him on the field longer and why coach prefers him. What else could it be? He doesn't run well and certainly isn't as good defensively so that's the only thing he does do better than Besic imo. Even if Besic doesn't get any better with his offensive game(even though that last game for NT really impressed me), i won't complain because i truly believe he can shut down any player on the planet(and that's enough for me).
Anyways, i've watched quite a few games this season and looks like Martinez can't find the right balance. Without Mume that middle looks really prone to easily giving up space and so you guys give up more chances. If he's in there then offensive game seems to go down a bit. I think as he gets more comfortable hopefully he makes more forward runs and makes the great passes that he's shown lately. If not then perhaps use him more as a shutdown player and somebody else can drive the offense.
