Besic is a great tackler and has an amazing pass in him.

His shooting is pretty poor though and we all know about his injury record.

Just hope he stays fit enough to make an impression this season as I really rate him as a player.

If he can get a string of games behind him . I reckon he'd be a decent player, the few games he has played he looked premiership quality IMO .All about fitness .

I love the type of player basic is... committed , full of energy , great attitude, fearless and is actually very good with the ball... his potential is awsome ... if he doesn't make it to a high level prem player it will be down to injuries and not effort that's for sure.. I really hope he has a decent run of fitness.

In certain games I would like to see him and Gueye in front of Schneiderlen. Opponents wouldn't get a moments peace. If McCarthy stays then he can come on if one starts to tire. We'd run other sides into the ground.

Modern day dogs of war but all decent on the ball as well.

Besic injured his eye waking up this morning.

The lad loves Everton and leaves it all on the pitch.
He starts the derby for me, with Wayne. Exactly what we have been missing.

Personally a big fan of Mo, think he's got the passion, desire and crunching tackles that we've been missing in the middle of the park during big games. I really hope he can stay fit as IMO he will be a great squad player if not challenging for regular game time!

But how often in the modern game do players have to face a sweeper any more?

I reckon it'd take some adjusting for other teams and we'd probably catch a couple of sides out with it before everyone else caught on, especially if we work on it on the quiet

Worth doing I think, and if the other side cotton on we can always then move Besic back into midfield and go 4-5-1 or 4-4-2/4-3-3

OK I've had a think about it and it Could work, maybe, in a modern up to date manner. In the manner of how Ratcliffe used to 'drop off' Mountfield as required...not as 1 player, then a gap, the your back 3 / 4 and the offside rule was different.
But then He wouldn't be a Sweeper.
So no Sweeper.
