In a back 3 he looks like he'd be very useful as we'd need at least one of the centre backs to have a lot more nous on the ball. Was impressed with the space he made driving forward. You're just waiting for an accident to happen but having the other two centre halves should cover that.

In a back two he just doesn't have the physicality for the premier league. However, Heitinga had a fairly successful stint there so it can be done.

It can definitely be done...he's fast and can get down for a tackle quickly...likely to see a pen or 2 given away at some point though lol still a great option and he's proved in the past he's a great man marker

He's barely had much playing time with us, mostly down to injury (dodgy incident vs Chelsea aside)... but he's still pretty much my favourite player in the current squad... the little rascal. Hope Koeman gets him in the team whenever possible, great to watch as he always looks like he's on the edge of doing something crazy!

Seems comfortable at center half. As long as he has someone tall like keane along side him he's definitely an option. Offers a bit of pace at the back and good on the ball. Interesting to see how koeman develops him if he sees him at a cb. Around the same height as koeman him self.

I personally think Koeman is just trying to fit him onto the field so he can gel with the team, but he could see some time at CB against shorter opposition.

That's the key mate, staying injury free. I'm not looking into where he may or may not play, most important thing is getting minutes and if he does he will definitely be in and around the squad and useful

Puyol and Cannavaro were the same height as Besic. Doesn't matter as long as you can read the game well and your fullbacks do their jobs defensively (Blocking crosses).

My bad, 30 minutes in a friendly against a Dutch team on a park pitch confirms him as a world class CB.

His first game as a defensive mid was for Bosnia in the World Cup vs Argentina and then on for us. Always been a CB before that.
