I like him and also Mccarthy, for the same reason I liked Gibson. In theory they're ball players who can block, track back and win a bit of possession.

But none are consistently fit enough. We're out of Europa, and very real relegation prospects. We don't need depth, we need quality now.

Besic goes, likewise McCarthy in the next window, and Williams and probably Mirallas, and Klassen. I'd think about Jags and Baines too end if Season ( though that's age, not performance ).

I'd only consider keeping Mccarthy out that lot if he can demonstrate consistency through the until and during the window.

Shockingly he's injured again so McCarthy won't be showing anything for a while more, again.

Except for when he plays for Ireland.
 
He didn't cost much, didn't do much. Some rated him, many didn't. Got a new contract, won't get another.

File under another player who used to play for Everton.
 


Thought he did a job being perfectly honest, and although probably an odd thing to say but I appreciated his reaction to the first goal, visibly pissed off as they all should be. If there's one thing about Mo it's that he's a fiery dude.
 
He's an Everyon legend in my eyes. I lovehis hard , never say die, no nonsense attitude which scares the bejesus out of the opposition. And his very first pass at Goodison ensured he would be a fan favourite.
For me, he's the first name (along with our other legend Bainsey) on every team sheet.
 
Was happy to see the lad fit and playing for us, even if it was at RB. With the likes of Schneiderlin wandering around the pitch looking preoccupied like a lovesick teenager waiting for a reply text from his girlfriend, I would like to see Mo get a run of games in midfield instead. He couldn't do any worse, and he does have the stomach for the battle we find ourselves in.
 
Don't understand why he isn't given more run in the team as whatever crocked CM pairing we put cannot even carry the ball for 10 yards forward let alone pass it.

He can also be a much better option at CB than Williams.
