It was mate. No offence in my reply meant. Just made me giggle that you went straight for the Scotland thread then this one!

Just going through my notifications m'boy.

That's what's bad about getting banned, you cant state your case you just get banned and then your feelings get hurt with no outlet for your emotion.

I don't get how Islam is the only religion in the world that does this. i knos they don't have to name their children mohammed but its odd but strangely respectful that they are devout to that extent.

it also reflects how much islam has become part of this country as well.

What about Christians especially Catholics naming kids after the disciples?

To be honest, it rather feels like the author of the article has rather back-handedly created a stick to beat the muslims with. So what if they like the name Mohammed, it doesn't really prove anything. As has jokingly been mentioned, if all Christians started naming their kids Jesus then that would be the most popular name and what does that really mean?

Not everything is a stick to beat Muslims with mate. It's just a fact. And if you look at the news EVERY DAY, Muslims do a pretty good job at looking after themselves.

I don't get this 'poor little victim' mentality that non Muslims put on that community. If anything its completely patronising to them. Whenever an issue is raised its 'tarnishing with the same brush' etc.

Its rubbish. Deal with the issues raised and then everyone can move forward. Sweep them under the carpet, claim 'islamophobia' (a completely made up word to deflect any criticism of religion- where's 'Christianophobia or Jewophobia?!) and you just grow resentment on both sides of the coin. Islam in this country would benefit greatly from not restricting peoples freedom of speech on how the community operates within a western society.

You could just as easily say something like 'The Turban is most popular headwear in the UK' because lots of Sikhs wear turbans whereas most Christians do not wear a hat at all, or wear a range of different types of hats. Does that mean the UK is over-run by Sikhs?

Just feels like a quirk of a particular section of society that is not universal across all society is being used unfairly against them.
