Songs from the 70-80s will live forever and will still be played in 50 years from now.

Songs from the 90s our my teenage partying years so will always love that era as it takes me back to certain moments of the best years of my life

Music from 00s-to date can go and ram itself up its own hoop.

In the mid 90s they were trying to push this guy Pato Banton as part of the jokey reggae thing at the time, and had him do loads of really terrible collaborations.

Here is him with Sting pretending to be a cowboy

The charts were awash with reggae in those days. Aswad, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Inner Circle etc. I think Peter Andre added a reggae flavour to his songs in the mid-90s too if I remember correctly

I class the late 70's as the origins of 80's music and really early 90's is that sound maturing and the dance music that started in the late 80's carried on developing until 98-99.

So I'm going to say 80's but that goes from 77 till 98 so I don't have to choose.🤪

The good news is that a lot of the old bands continued putting out good stuff. It's a little hit-and-miss, but there are plenty of albums out there that stand up to those bands' work in their heyday, and they often have better production.

There was loads of cheese reggae but '90s dancehall was largely 'kin ace.

Also, the woman I used to buy weed from when I was a teenager once shagged Pato Banton lol
