Imo most people who say there is no good music anymore either

1. Just got old and jaded (it happens to us all)
2. Have quite limited taste in music (stereotypically they tend to only listen to rock music)
3. People who never really did crate digging when they were younger and whose perceptions of music as a whole are built by what gets played on daytime radio etc. This is typically the older generations, boomers in particular. They struggle with the concept that similar music still exists, it’s just you aren’t going to be exposed to it in the same way they were back in the day. It requires a bit more effort nowadays.
4. People who are emotionally attached to certain eras because of the memories that come with them. You’re never going to get someone who was 20 years old in the 70s going on about how great the 2010s were etc.
They have memories of being young and having fun attached to the 70s whereas the only memories they have of the 10s is probably lung cancer and colostomy bags !

I mean, salient points like but the double haymaker on the end?

Make no mistake, in 40 years' time we will prob have today’s zoomers fawning over what a glorious period of time the 2010s were for music whilst their kids mock them for being ancient ass zoomers who stupidly still listen to music made by humans rather than consuming the latest AI generated bangers.

“Back in my day we actually wrote music ourselves you know”

“Shut up grandad, no one cares”

I'm not one to brag as you know Jimmy, but I once did sign a Turin Brakes poster as the fan with the poster thought I'd just walked off the stage and was in their band.

Who are Turin Brakes I hear people ask.

Exactly!
Still got that poster!

Quiz time. Who was their lead singer? My poster says it was MacA*

No one has ever disputed this.
