His personality had a big influence though. Don't underestimate that.
Yeah, defo. You can't imagine the Beatles without him.

There was already one more extra cook spoiling the broth when Harrison started agitating for album time. Someone else more creative than Ringo (a great drummer in his own right like) would have split the Beatles well before 1970.

I think Something and Here Comes the Sun are two of the finest though. I am always surprised there is so little comment on McCartneys bass playing on Something which I think is genius.

Harrison was a hell of a talent. His 33 and a 1/3rd is the best solo album of all the Beatles. IMO.

Seems to me Ringo and George gave folk as much pleasure post-Beatles as the big two did.
I did't really like anything McCartney did as a solo artist. Too commercial. Lennon's Walls and Bridges was very good. But Harrison's Dark Horse and 33 and a third were fantastic albums. Songs like Dear One, My Sweet Lord, Crackerbox Palace, Beautiful Girl were Harrison at his best and shows why he wanted to break lose from the Beatles. I suppose Ringo's first album post-mop tops was a good effort too.

Agree, it sounds like what it is, some left over segment of a song, now sellotaped together ,via AI.

Pretty soulless.

It's a "Ringo's run out of cash" song.

As you say, Lennon discarded that and they did him no favours resurrecting it. I bet he'd have hated it.

I can reveal that Ringo has a new EP out today. Paul has been involved in it. Four nice toe-tappers and a lot more upbeat than the Beatles latest dirge!
