Roy Vernon was more consistent imo - I have never been to a game where the GV was idolised as much as he was - he admitted himself he was inconsistent or just brilliant .... maybe he was so different to a traditional no 9 - he glided over the mud on his day - his skill levels were so high - plus his ability to hang in the air & get up so high etc....Not a huge fan of Young. Recognise his strengths but feel his weaknesses partly explain why we didn't win much more in the 60's.
