I know what a defender looks like. Doesn't matter if he's pushing on and getting the odd assist (here against tripe opposition). But you have to have balance if you play wing back and he doesn't provide it.

Patterson is what the modern full back is all about, pace and an ability to get up and down all day.

You're just going to have to suffer the defensive issues for a season or two like you do with every young full back/wing back, loaning him out to bring in someone like Aarons is utter stupidity you're halting the progress of someone who could actually be good in the future for someone who's proven he will never be.
