Really excited to see what he can produce. We have had significant trouble breaking down the poorer teams, I think he can play a big role in that.

Lampard will be pragmatic and no doubt play Coleman when we are playing away against the big teams.

Protect him where we can and unleash him when we can afford to.

Only two years ago under marcel brands we went into the season with zero cover at fullbacks for coleman and digne.
It has been known for Everton to be stupid. I think sometimes we corner the market in it.

Well we at least have two on the books. Coleman and patterson. The season i quoted we had none at right back. And nkounkou went out on loan leaving none for digne.

He’s one of the few players giving me a bit of hope. Young and serious potential. Think he could be a really important player if we play 5 at the back, this season and longer term. Going to give us a lot of threat with his pace, physicality and delivery - so important we have a threat from wide in that formation. Big Dom will love some of his crosses.

Him and Mykolenko looked absolutely quality in a back 5. That will get us the best results this year if we bring in new midfielders.

The combo is interesting, Patterson with Young Ben in behind. Ben has the pace, size and athleticism to cover that side if caught and no stranger to a full back role.
