Good post. The best full backs in the world are mostly poor defensively and good on the ball and going forward but they're helped that they have an excellent CB and CM set-up that allows them to be free in the role and make up for what the FB lacks. Tarkowski is good enough to handle that pressure but our other CBs can't (Perhaps Mina too) and our CMs certainly do not have that discipline and energy.

To be fair he needs a run of games, he will bed in and be a good signing. A lot on here wouldn’t have given Gordon the time of day based on his early performances. Within 3 months he was probably our most consistent player in a poor team. I’m certainly gonna give him more than a couple of friendlies before i pass judgement. Watching him for Scotland against some decent opposition, he has looked good. Has all the trademarks to be a good footballer with years on his side. The profile of player we should be signing in other parts of the pitch.

He's 20 and barely played twenty pro games it will take him time but this is Everton and we have no backup because the way we build a squad is a farce.
