Consistency, he's only played one game, you doughnut. lol No one here is expecting a 20 year old lad to be Mr Consistent - you're punching shadows.

Patterson looks quality. I wonder if he will share that spot with Iwobi now?

What I love most is that we have Gordon, Mykolenko and Patterson who all have bags of energy to hurt teams. I don't care if we lose, I just want to make sure players are giving their all and Patterson looks like he will do that
Woah! I care if we lose. Many others do and were almost slashing their wrists for much of last season.
Effort is a given (or should be), but putting a shift in and losing to a dumb goal (see match versus Cheatski) and confidence flies out of the window.

Not being aggressive, and welcome to the forum by the way.

I get what you mean, but after seeing the performances before Frank came in, I was just begging for effort. I also think that if you put that effort in then most of the time you'll be on the right end of the result.

Cheers man, I've been lurking for a long time but decided to post a great video I watched and now I'm addicted ?

@davek How did the lad Hickey do at the weekend? You know, the 15m signing for Brentford that you were using as a beating stick against Patterson?

"Hickey attracted interest from Arsenal this summer but eventually made the move to Brentford. It wasn’t a dream debut for the right-back who failed to make a tackle, block or clearance during the 2-2 draw at Leicester. He lost all but one of his six duels"

I agree with you but got a feeling that Frank will play Iwobi at RWB now we have better quality in midfield.

I wouldn't.

I'd play Patteron and play Iwobi in central midfield in a 3.
That would be my expectation. My hope would be that he lets Patterson and Iwobi duke it out for the position with the other as a sub, and that Patterson wins out. It's possible that we could go to 5-3-2 with McNeil and Gray up top, as Gray's flaws could probably be minimized if he plays a little closer to goal.

If we are going to play 5 at the back ( and unfortunately we are ) then I would definately like to see 3 in midfield - Gana ( when/if he signs ) Onana and one of Doucoure , Iwobi or Mc Neil.
I'm sorry but Gray and McNeil would be an horrific front 2.
Based on what's currently available I'd play Rondon and Gordon as the front 2 but this just highlights where we now need to strengthen

I don't like the suggested plan either, but I also don't love any of the alternatives in a front two right now. The only way I would start Rondon is if we only had eleven players to dress out. I suspect we'll bang our heads against the wall in a front three for a while unless we get an actual #9 in.

It underlines how poor you are to highlight deficiencies in one single performance.

Hickey is twice the player Patterson is.
