The term 'back up' is nonsensical here. If you don't see that then go and read Lampards words again yesterday.

We have the club captain at RB and he has a younger challenger for his shirt.

That's about the strength of it.

The best performance from a RB this season was posted a week ago by Coleman. That's the standard required from whomever starts in that position.
Nah, Patterson was excellent vs Leeds and vs West ham.

Pattersons derby display was far better than Colemans display against Palace.

He was up against better players in a game where the opposition was more prevalent

It's really good that he's back but IMO he will be on the bench and will have to prove it to get a starting slot. Brilliant, that's how it should be.

Stop with this nonsense.

Just stop.

Patterson is first choice RB and well you know it. He will probably be on the bench tomorrow as Coleman doesn’t deserve dropping after a clean sheet and they won’t want to rush Patterson back, that’s it, nothing else to see here.

Patterson is now first choice RB - FACT, as your 2nd favourite ex Everton manager of recent years would say.

...and against Forest and Chelsea when he fell asleep and cost us posts?
I mean, doucoure gave away a crap penalty vs Chelsea on the lads PL debut. (It's already been discussed on here that it wasn't Pattersons fault for the goal).

As previously discussed with you:

Chelsea goal was not his fault. Go and watch it, he stepped out to pressure the player on the right, the ball passed through to Chilwell who Doucoure was marking and he also had Holgate behind him.

Forest - Pickford should have done much better with that shot. All of the defence were stepping forward because there was little risk, but the midfield again allowed a shot from distance to be made.

Should we go through all of Colemans poor games and point out every mistake?

Remember when you tried to claim the Leeds goal was his fault as well? Despite it coming from the opposite side of the pitch? Nice to see you remain blinded by your agenda.

This screams shades of those weird obsessive Ronaldo fans.

Well those laughing emojis showed me! Super retort David.

Basically you just admitted you have no debate back.
How is Patterson 'first choice' when Coleman is putting in commanding performances?

"It’s a really healthy competition for two lads, one who has been here a long time and one that is coming through. They get on very well so I’m more than happy with that." - Lampard yesterday.

Stand in and first choice and second choice dont come into it for the man who matters most. It's just healthy competition...something we should have in every position.
