I'd give the first half to Coleman, with the intention of subbing Patterson on early in the second half irrespective of the score or performances

I think Coleman is very definitely Patterson's back up these days, having said that, it would be very harsh to drop Coleman after his performance last week. I'm a great believer in the old adage that you don't fix what isn't broken. I think Patterson should be eased back in over the next couple of games, but, it would not be fair, to him or to Coleman, if he was just thrown back in today. Within a short space of time however, Patterson will be back in the team and Coleman will be back on the bench. That is as it should be.

The sectarian bile in this thread is very unfortunate. Our captain put in a storming performance last week. Lads should show some respect. But then it's the Internet and folk wouldn't say boo to a ghost in real life. Patterson has potential but has shown mistakes as is common for a young lad. No criticism in that. He could be great in time. Let's just have a bit of perspective please

Ban worthy imo.
Yes. I take a very dim view of it.

Liverpool and Glasgow are often compared and rightly so, however one thing that sets us apart is our lack of this sort of thing which mostly died out in the 1950’s.

I also wish people would stop trying to manufacture a non-existent religious affinity to both our local clubs. That’s for another time though.

Anyway, sectarianism - leave it out.

End of.

It's a bit tiring reading some of the stuff on Coleman and Patterson. 99.9% of everton fans like both players, and we need two players in each position. For once, the manager has a good decision to make today, rather than last year where he was struggling to put a side together.

If I could have the last word on this, and I will, just please report any sectarianism as soon as you see it and we will nip it in the bud.

Absolutely. I'm on the one road with this - strong squad with experienced Premier league players under pressure from a series of talented youngsters breathing down their necks. Even if Patterson doesn't become a regular til next season or even the one after he'll be ahead of the curve and a great acquisition for us. Bring him on as much as possible to inject energy to the team late on.

...no one except you.
Are you Irish by any chance?

Fortunate period? We have 1 functional right-back and a Gary Neville's last season imposter who Irish people will not say is completely not up to it anymore. It's so so SO strange. If he was Welsh no one on here would defend him.

The Irish have logged on.
