The whole defence and keeper where very good today.
Bar Seamus ,mainly cos he was targeted from the off. Felt sorry for him with no support from Gordon.

He'll have a good rest now the 1st choice RB is back.

Few mistakes tonight but tried to offer something going forward just needs games to get back up to the speed. Glad he is back

They focused a lot of play down his side today but Coleman fared no better beforehand. Glad to see him get minutes

It's a tricky one. You either have Gordon who is fast but can't be bothered tracking back, especially away from home where the supporters aren't telling him, or McNeil who wants to track back but is so slow every left back can outpace him.

Hold on, I thought the whole argument around replacing Coleman with Patterson is that Patterson offers more energy getting forward and getting back. So why on earth would you play a more defensive minded winger than Gordon?

Gordon should be dropped for what was a truly woeful performance both offensively and defensively. Regardless of who is playing fullback, there has to be standards and starting him next week after that abomination would say play as badly as you like and start. Paterson obviously does offer more energy going forward and at getting back - I mean that’s hardly earth shattering, Coleman is 34.

…actually think Patterson was sound defensively leading up to his injury. He hasn’t been as expansive as I thought we’d see from an attacking perspective but I think that will happen.

Barnes will be a real threat next week, Patterson & McNeil worked terrific as a pair at Leeds & I wonder if Lampard might revert to that formula. We’re at home, so he might not but Gordon looked way out of sorts yesterday.
