2022/23 Nathan Patterson

Could see him working well with Townsend who is more seasoned and experienced player.

No one on his wavelength which meant nothing came off.

Not covered and there lays the problem. With full backs attacking it only takes one sloppy pass to leave them stranded. Should always be cover so when they broke Patterson was not to blame for Doucoure passing to a Leicester player
He wasn't exactly busting a gut getting back.

His teamwork was poor when he came on and he got rinsed a couple of times.

I've said for ages: we need Seamus to be played sparingly before he retires and a proper RFB bought by this club.

Both our right backs struggled badly today. Not good
Seamus Coleman a few seasons back with pace not only copes with Barnes (who was tat on the night it has to be said) but he'd have carried the attack to Leicester down the right flank too.

That is beyond Patterson at the moment - there's no question of that. He had a very good derby but apart from that he's been average to dismal.

I thought both Coleman and Patterson struggled. We gave them way too much respect, especially in midfield.

He shouldn't have to bust a gut to get back....he was in an advanced position and was let down by Doucoure hence too far forward to consider busting a gut to get back because he wouldn't have made it.

I don't recall him getting rinsed but I do recall him getting let down by his team mates several times.

The pass by Doucoure cost the goal but someone should have made a foul to stop the counter attack at source. Just take a booking

Coleman is missing a yard and cant get too near a good winger because he'll be done. But he's still competitive and if Coady is on song (he wasn't tonight) it should be enough down that right side to secure.

As far as Patterson is concerned: he's young, yes. But FFS he needs to show a lot more than what he's done this season to be justufying the OTT plaudits he's had. I see a player who surges forward and then doesn't know WTF to do with the ball when he gets it...and then we're out of shape with him up the pitch and it's all hands to the pumps.

He got turned inside out in our box at least twice.

I'm not saying he's responsible for that horror show tonight, far from it. But some people need to get a 'kin grip the way they talk him up. I dont see it, and IMO we need a new RB in to fill an alarming gap left by a declining Coleman.

We were bad all over the pitch, except maybe Mykolenko

Lack of aggression and lack of bravery to play the ball forward directly.

I still dont remember him getting rinsed. One of fans biggest gripes is we haven't got attacking full backs so it is a bit harsh to slate Patterson for being forward and blame him for a goal conceded

He got turned inside out by Maddison and Barnes in the box.
