The only thing you csn say for Patterson, is he was brought on, on 70 minutes onto a truly woeful performance. It's not easy to affect the game within that context, and some consideration has to be afforded for that.

I’d be interested to know, given it was the 85th minute and we were on the attack for an equaliser, where Dave would like his right full-back to be standing in this still image (he’s just slightly off-screen right now with Justin).

The only person out of position here is Coady and our full-backs shouldn’t always assume Doucoure will not be able to control a simple pass.

Sorry, what, Dave thinks that’s Paterson’s fault for the pass to Doucoure? Doucoure gives that away needlessly, God knows what he was trying to do. You can’t blame Paterson for that. The fullback is trying to go for a give and go - exactly what you’d want him to be doing.
