Thought he was absolutely being just overran by that Minimato lad but he figured it out really fast. Missed the last 20 minutes but thought he was excellent after the first 15ish.

A few people have said this but I think it a bit unfair. Patterson got skinned once spectacularly, the other times Mitomo thankfully ran inside doing little damage. Mitomo got the better of that first twenty mins but I don't think it was nearly as bad as people are making out. I say this as someone who is still not overly impressed with Patterson's defensive duties.

Really good performance, he’s got a lot of potential to be a top player. Was very impressed tonight, looked strong defensively. Annoying we had Godfrey and Holgate in ahead of him.
