You're using an opinion that 7/10 is one of his best performance from a season where he's played quite a number of matches to defend him from criticism?
Nope I was talking about last night.

If someone plays badly, they get criticised then fair enough, when someone generally is considered to have played well in a game they would usually get praised imho or that's how it works in my head anyway.

There are some on here who are agenda driven against the lad, you don't seem to be you say so it's just your opinion and that's what's all about, opinions, good or bad. Keeps the forum interesting for sure.

The lad just can't defend. You're related to him apparently so I get it you want to be on his side. Look he seems a nice kid. I was in the lower bullens last night when he came across at the end. No issues there.

Going forward he looks okay but the odd challenge apart (eg when he put Grealish on his arse which was lovely) he just doesn't know how to defend. He makes it easy for attackers. All through the first half he stayed 5 yds away from Grealish when he had the ball giving him room on the outside. It's just his positioning is so poor.

He's keen and he's wearing blue and if he'd have come through our youths instead of a big transfer splash and being given a big contract then there'd be no bother.

You don't offer opinions on anything other than Nathan Patterson though, those you accuse of agenda driven obsession at least post on other Everton related threads.

Personally I think it's the massive over reaction to the criticism that makes for all the drama on this thread - only on the Nathan Patterson thread stating that he gets caught out of position classed as "hurling bile", only on the Nathan Patterson thread is making an observation that his level of fitness isn't great classed as "spouting vitriol." Nobody who criticises Mykolenko, for example, gets accused of being Russian. This thread is what it is because of people obsessed with defending a player no matter how crap he plays.

He did alright last night in the second half, nothing more, yet the usual are in here on the morale high ground.

It’s funny that this post is under one with the usual OTT pish of “He can’t defend” when last nights game showed that actually he can defend, and defend very well. Shearer thought so as well.

@BurghToffee is apparently Nathan's uncle so on the £££ should the boy do well so quite understandably he's batting an agenda.

As I said above Patterson came across to my section last night after the game and seemed a genuinely nice kid. I just think he's been dealt a bad hand.

My mistake for posting in one of the most popular threads pointing out unfairness where I see it.

Had posted in other threads and have done so again ;)

Think you will find quite a lot of people post in here and not others for those same reasons :)

They are just a wum. As evidenced by their first post in here following the game compared to all subsequent posts. Just don’t engage.

Pattersons performance has gone from
Being “good in the second half” and “our fans needing to have more faith in our youngsters”

To being “alright, nothing more”.

All through the first half he stayed 5 yds away from Grealish when he had the ball giving him room on the outside. It's just his positioning is so poor.

To be fair to Patterson he's only following Dyche's instruction there, Dyche insists on a narrow back four and a few teams have noticed this and have their wide players camped on the touchline in space.
